Our Junior hurlers have been in action in both the county league and the city league in the past 10 days. We played St Mary’s in the All County league and held on for a 1 point win, this game was played in excellent conditions and a cracking game of hurling took place between 2 young fast teams.
The standard was high and the scoring reflects this. The game ebbed and flowed and right to the last puck of the game St Mary’s had a free that was deflected over for a point and a goal would have changed the result.
We played the City League final against Na Piarsaigh and for some reason we never got going in this game and played 2nd fiddle to a fast moving Na Piarsaigh. The panel will now regroup, get some injured players back along with our students doing exams and prepare for the championship.
The panel of players in these league games was: S Keating, J Burke, P Sheehan, N Moloney, P Walsh, C Kelly, S Moloney, P O’Sullivan, N Carmody, E O’Shea, M McCormack, G Sheehan, R Hourigan, C Keyes, B Relihan, S Quinn, S McDermott, R Kelliher, T Moloney, M Gammell, C Scully, D O’Connor, F Carey, Ian Donoghue.
