Junior Hurlers give a good account of themselves

Our Junior Hurlers travelled to Ballingarry on Saturday 28th February to play premier intermediates Granagh-Ballingarry in a challenge game.

Our team gave a good account of themselves on the day and the game was a good exercise for them ahead of the upcoming League & Championship matches.

Some of this young team will also be playing in the South Under 21 Championship with Tory Gaels starting next weekend of 7th/8th March against Blackrock.

U14 Footballers – great win in 1st round of Feile Peile na nÓg

Kilpeacon had a great win in the opening round of Feile Peile na nÓg 2015.

Played on the afternoon of Saturday 28th February, both Kilpeacon (Crecora Manister and Fedamore amalgamation) and Kildimo/Pallaskenry had to battle a very strong swirling wind which slightly favoured the team playing into the Crecora end of the field.

Kildimo/Pallaskenry started brightly with a couple of points before Kilpeacon got on the scoreboard. While every score was very hard fought for, Kilpeacon dominated for the rest of the first half even when playing against that wind.

Kilpeacon started the second half with the same 15 and once the game was put away subs were introduced from the bench to give well earned rests to some of the starting 15.

Every player who came on played their part to preserve the lead and add on a couple of extra scores towards the end.

Final Score: Kilpeacon 5 – 6 Kildimo/Pallaskenry 1 – 4.

We will play the winners of Adare V Deel Rangers in the quarter final provisionally booked for 11am on Sunday 22nd March .

Team lined out as follows:
Sam Riordan, Padraig Byrnes (Chris Shanahan), Joshua Skehan Fitzgerald, Eoghan O’Connor (Fergal Egan), Colin Haigney, Philip O’Toole, Patrick Dolphin, Richard Murphy (Ciaran Kennedy), Cathal O Neill; Cian Enright (0 – 1), Jack Dalton, Killian Scanlon (Darragh O’Keeffe), Brendan Power (1 – 1), (John Burke), Colin Coughlan( 2 – 3), Dara Foley(Captain) (2 – 1), Rian O Byrne.

Well done to all.

Next up for the under 14s is Féile na nÓg Hurling vs Ballybrown on  Saturday 7th March at 1600 in Crecora.
This is a knock out match so your support for the lads would be greatly appreciated.
