Club Notes 18th July

Congratulations
Congratulation to Cathal O’Neill and the Limerick senior hurlers who won a historic 3 in a row of All-Ireland titles on Sunday in Croke Park with Cathal coming off the bench and getting a fine score.

Under 17
Our under 17 footballers lost out in their opening match of the 2022 campaign against Pallasgreen on a score line of 4-10 to 1-7 last Wednesday night.
Our hurlers also suffered defeat in their first game against Cois Laoi Gaels.
The footballers play Ballybrown Wednesday 27th July at 7pm in Clarina while the hurlers’ next game is away to Caherline on 3rd August.

Intermediate Footballers
It’s a big week for our intermediate footballers as they open their championship campaign against St Patrick’s on Thursday 21st July in Clarina at 7.30 and then play Glin on Sunday 24th July at 7.30pm in Mick Neville Park Rathkeale.
All support appreciated.

Sympathies
The club extends its sympathies to the Cregan and Quirke families on the passing of Austin Cregan, late of Holycross, Bruff and formerly of Manister.
Austin’s daughter Carmel Quirke is involved in the club, his son John is involved with the Camogie club, his son-in-law is our former secretary Pat Quirke and his grandsons Cathal and Liam Quirke are former junior hurlers while his granddaughters Róisín Quirke and Isabelle and Ruth Cregan are members of our Camogie club.
His niece Ethel Browne is also involved with Crecora Camogie club.

All Weather Astro Facility progress update

There has been great progress in recent weeks at Crecora Manister GAA Pitch with the nearing completion. Thanks to everyone for their patience and support during the construction phase.

Many thanks also to all those club members who have already paid their family contribution to the Development Fund.

For those who have not yet contributed, the club would ask people to DO SO NOW PLEASE as we have final invoices and payments to be made to complete this project and we are almost there!

Club Notes 12th July

Under 13 Hurling
Well done to our under 13 hurlers who beat Croagh-Kilfinny/Rathkeale during the week by 3-9 to 2-9 in very warm conditions.
Their next game is on Thursday 18th August vs Belville Gaels in Crecora at 7pm.

Under 15
Hard luck to our under 15 hurlers who were narrowly beaten by Dromin-Athlacca/Banogue by 3-8 to 2-9 last Monday.
Their next game is this Saturday 16th July vs Templeglantine away at 11am.

Under 17
Our under 17 footballers open their campaign against Pallasgreen next Wednesday 13th July in Dooley Park at 7pm.

Intermediate Footballers
Our intermediate footballers open their championship campaign against St Patrick’s on Thursday 21st July in Clarina at 7.30pm.
They then play Glin the following Sunday 24th July at 7.30pm in Mick Neville Park Rathkeale.

Cúl Camp
We were delighted to have 128 children at our Cúl camp this week. It was a great success.
Many thanks to our coaches and helpers who assisted over the four days including a special mention to Liam McNamara, Margaret Punch, John McCarthy, Paula McCarthy, Sarah Browne and Ger Dillon. Thank you to Cathal O’Neill who attended and spoke to each age group.
Special thanks to our hard working subcommittee drawn from the GAA and Camogie Clubs; Carol Malone, David Delahunty, Annette Byrnes, John Power, Donnacha Ryan and Pat Quirke.

All-Ireland Final
The very best of luck to Cathal O’Neill and the rest of the Limerick senior hurling team and management against Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final next Sunday 17th July.
