Club Notes 18th March

Under 21 Hurling
Our under 21 hurlers came up short against Southside Gaels (Claughaun/Old Christians/St. Patrick’s) in the city under 21 B hurling championship final. Played in awful conditions in Rhebogue, our lads got off to a great start in the first half but unfortunately the city side came back in the second half to claim a 3-17 to 4-8 victory. This brings 2019’s campaign to a close.
Team: Tomás Connolly; Pádraig Byrnes, Karl Moloney, Páraic O’Neill; Cian Leahy, Mark Shanahan, Michael Bateman; Richard Murphy, James Conheady; Donnacha Connolly, Edwin Wixted, Tom Shanahan; Brendan Power, Conor Kirby, Rory Hannon. Fergal Egan, Ciarán Kennedy, Chris Shanahan.

The replay will take place next weekend with a time, date and venue to be confirmed.

Next up is a home game against Father Casey’s next Saturday 16th March at 3pm in Crecora.

Scór
This year is the 50th Anniversary of Scór.With this in mind the girls who won the All Ireland Scór na nOg in 2012 in Rince Foirne decided to enter Scór Sinsear 2019. Six of the eight girls were in a position to participate.

Aisling Coughlan, Amy O’Connor,Caoimhe Sheehan,Eimear Mahon, Emer Kennedy, Niamh Murphy, Orla Byrnes & Sinead Murphy.

The girls won the County Final which was held in Askeaton on 23rd February. This qualified them to perfom in the Munster Final in City Hall in Cork on 2nd March.

Unfortunately they did not win . They were very disappointed as they danced very well and got great comments from the judge but were pipped at the post.

The girls enjoyed the time spent practising with Muirne Bennis. They would like to thank her for all her time and encouragement over the past number of weeks. They also wish to thank Crecora Manister GAA for sponsorship during the competitions.
