Junior Hurling Championship Round 2

On Saturday 12th August we played the second round of the Junior Championship against Claughan in Rathbane.
A good start was imperative after defeat the previous week and the team obliged raising 4 white flags in the early stages from Conor Kirby, Chris Shanahan and a brace from Cathal O’Neill.
Claughan responded with a free but we continued to build on our score.
By half time we had stretched our lead our to 0-12 to 0-04 with scores from Conor, Cathal, Rian O’Byrne and Rory Hannan.

In the second half we kept the pressure on and kept the scoreboard ticking over with accurate shooting.
Rob Henehan, Paraic O’Neill, Cormac Flanagan and Brendan Power added the names to the scoresheet.
Cian Leahy came on at corner back and put in his usual committed performance prior to his departure for Australia.
