Limerick Minor Hurlers
The Limerick Minor hurling team played out a 0 – 19 to 1 – 16 draw with Cork in the first round of the Munster Minor Hurling Championship last Sunday.
Well done to Cathal O’Neill who scored 10 or the 19 points and also to Rory Hannon for being on the panel.

Club Notes 13th May

Junior Hurlers
Our Junior A Hurlers picked up a good win over Mungret last Saturday in  the opening round of division 5 of the All County League, 0 – 18 to 1 – 13 was the final score.
They now play Hospital-Herbertstown in Crecora this Saturday 18th May at 7pm.

Minors
Our Minor Hurlers have completed their two opening games in the 2019 Premier Minor Hurling campaign and now take a break from competition until after the exams.
On Saturday 27th April and delayed by 24 hours due to Storm Hannah, we played Mungret St Pauls in Mungret in front of a good crowd of supporters. Conceding two quick goals early in the first half, the lads continued to battle hard but couldn’t close the gap and were defeated on a scoreline of Mungret St Pauls 2 – 17 to Kilpeacon 1 – 14.
In our second game, we met Ahane on Friday 3rd May in Caherelly. This game turned out to be a classic encounter providing a fine display of hurling skills. Both teams gave it everything from start to finish and with very little separating the teams throughout, it finished a high-scoring drawn game of Kilpeacon 5 – 15 to 2 – 24 Ahane.
Kilpeacon Panel: Richard Murphy, Rory Hannon, Jack Dalton, Ciaran Kennedy, Aidan Walker, Cian Enright, Fergal Egan, Jamie Slater, Colm O’Riordan, John Bourke, Padraig Byrnes, Colin Haigney, James Conheady, Patrick Byrne, Chris Shanahan, Micheál Martin, Cathal O’Neill, John O’Donnell, Darragh Hogan, Brendan Power, Darragh O’Keeffe, Eoghan O’Connor, Jack Duggan, Robbie Slater, Connor Hannon, Rian O’Byrne, Sam Riordan, Caillum Hedderman.

Under 16s
Our U16s, playing as Kilpeacon have completed the first phase of their league campaign in both hurling and football.
In hurling we played the Ahane-Murroe Boher amalgamation followed by Ballybrown and while the results did not go our way, the performances were very positive and we look forward to resuming the campaign after the junior cert exams.
In football, we played Oola and Na Piarsaigh. Again results didn’t go our way but our lads showed that the potential is there and once we get a few more training sessions under our belts we will be a different team for the remainder of the campaign.
We would like to wish all our players the best of luck in their upcoming Junior Certificate and year end exams.

Under 14s
Our under 14 Footballers lost out to Ahane last Wednesday 4 – 10 to 2 – 5 in division 2A.
Focus now switches to hurling and we will play Killeedy-Tournafulla this Wednesday 15th May in Killeedy at 7pm.

Under 12s
Our Under 12s recently played the second round of U12 hurling league away to Monaleen. We were down 1 – 4 to 0 – 2 at halftime having played into the wind in first half but had a great second half scoring 3 – 2 but unfortunately Monaleen goaled from a 21 yard free with last puck of the match to snatch the win 3 – 6 to 3 – 4.
The coaching team were very happy with the application and effort given by all the boys.
The third round scheduled for Thursday 23rd May at home to Claughaun.
