Resounding display against a spirited Naomh Brid

Kilpeacon U14 Football finished off their league campaign by topping the table with a resounding display against a spirited Naomh Brid winning on a scoreline of 7 – 8 to 1 – 2 .

We had a great spread of scorers from all over the field with great displays from to name but a few , Ben , Jack , Adam and Cathal and some towering defensive displays from Richard , Patrick and Conor.

Special praise must go to the U12 players who took to the field on the night , Sam in goals , Patrick in defence and Cathal up in the forwards.

The most pleasing aspect of this squad of players is the team spirit and also the fairness in the way they play , it is a testament to all players on the panel on their achievements so far and there is more to come with the Divisonal cup semi final to come so hopefully we can keep this squad together to see out the remaining games.

Great work by all the coaches , Noel , Jack , Caimin , Aidan and Ger.

Team lined out as follows:   Sam Riordan , Thomas Shanahan , Joshua Skehan Fitzgerald , Patrick Dolphin (Cian Enright) , Conor Godfrey(Philip O Toole) , Ben Carew , Richard Murphy , Timothy Duggan , Donnacha Connolly , Adam Galvin (Adam Fahey) , Jack Dalton(Cathal O Neill) , Shane O’Connor , Niall Kelly (Michael Maher) , Eoin feeney , Darragh Foley , Subs not used : Eoghan O Connor , Ciaran Kennedy.

U12 home game vs Mungret thur 31st July

Our U12 Football squad have had some tough matches recently and next up for us is a local derby against our close neighbours Mungret.

Our previous game against Mungret was a lively encounter with Mungret edging out in a tough game so we are all looking forward to welcoming Mungret’s young players to Crecora’s home pitch on Thursday 31st @ 18:45pm in what promises to be another good game.

Here’s hoping we can reverse the last result and show all our players and supporters what we are capable of.

Wonderful score from Gary O’Connell to give us victory

On 25th July our Minor footballers progressed to the  semi-final stages of the Premier County Championship with a hard fought win over Ballybrown at Clarina.

Despite missing several regulars, and facing a strong home side, our lads held their composure throughout and achieved victory by the narrowest of margins.

In the gusty conditions, scores were hard to come by and we lead four  points to three at the interval. With the scores locked at eight points each heading in the last minute, effective  direct running by Damien Kearney setup  Gary O’Connell who took a wonderful score to give us victory.

Panel: Shane O’Connell, Richard Bateman, Mark Reidy, Seán Cahill, Evan Moloney, Ryan O’Shea, Brian Cregan, David Macken, Jamie Shinners, Damien Kearney, Micheál Collins, Gary O’Connell, Roy Sheerin, Barry Fitzgibbon, Robert Sweeney, Jordan Ryan, Eoin Kennedy.

Unfortunately in the second half two quick  goals were scored against us but our boys showed great character and dug deep to see out a victory with a margin of three points .
