Saturday 27th October was a truly memorable day as the Liam McCarthy Cup was brought to the Crecora Manister GAA grounds.
Senior stars Diarmaid Byrnes, Richie McCarthy and Barry Nash were in attendance and were very generous with their time to the
large crowd which turned out to celebrate the long awaited All Ireland win.
The celebration started with an underage blitz and local musical and dancing entertainment. Matt O’Callaghan was the MC on the
day and did a great job making our guests feel at ease while getting an insight into the background to the All Ireland win.
Club Chairman John McCarthy spoke of behalf of the club and extended his thanks to the players and management who gave
us a year to remember. The event was organised by a committee of GAA and Camogie club members Pat Quirke, Noel Kennedy,
Noel Murphy, Mags Moloney, Annette Byrnes, Pat Walsh. Thanks also to James Bateman who chauffeured the players and to
Diane Condon for photographs and to all who contributed in any way.
