Extra Time played to determine second place in Table Quiz

We had a great night on Friday 21st November in Yellowtown for our Table Quiz, with a huge turn out of more than 20 tables.

A good number of the Camogie Junior Champions were in attendance along with their County Trophy.

The Table Quiz night is always a great get together and gives us all a chance to catch up for a chat and a few laughs.

Presentation to Kevin Hayes
A feature on the night was the presentation of a gift to Kevin Hayes in recognition of his great service to our Club. Kevin retired this time last year as Club Secretary, a position he held for 10 years and for the 10 years prior to that he held the position of Club Bórd na nÓg Secretary.

Thanks to all Who Helped Out
Events like the Table Quiz don’t happen without help from a big number of people. Thanks to:
All the people who came on the night
Kevin Hayes and Sean Burke for setting the questions, Quiz Master and Score Keeper.
The many people who donated spot prizes for the raffle.
Those who brought sandwiches and cocktail sausages
The younger members of the Junior Camogie team who heplded with the sales of the raffle tickets.
and of course, thanks to Tommy for the venue

2014 Table Quiz Champions
These boys had a nice feed of sandwiches and cocktail sausages at half time, gave them a good wash down and played a second half where they only dropped one point, getting 29 of the 30 questions correct, to make them outright winners.
This is a good young team so they’ll be ones to watch for the future.

Hard fought Second Place
There were 3 teams tied for second place so the Quiz Master had to open up the sealed envelope and we’d to play extra time.
The first period of extra time saw the 3 teams reduced to 2.
It was down to fitness in the end which saw the team below coming through the second period of extra time to come second on the night from a field of over 20 teams.
