A good start to the U15 Hurling Championship

On Monday 24th April our Under 15s got their Hurling Championship campaign underway at home against Knockainey.
The home side got off to a great start with 2 goals from Conor Hickey and Liam Mulqueen.

However we gave away a good few frees before half time which let Knockainey into the game to leave the halftime scoreline 2 – 3 to 1 – 7 in favour of Knockainey.
The second half was another tense affair when Knockainey scored 2 goals to extend their lead.

The home side dug in however with a succession of scores to regain the lead and eventually win the match 5 – 6 to 3 – 8.
Well done to our boys, it was great to see them pull together and come back and win this match.

Cian Hickey 2 – 0, Conor Hickey 1 – 0, Liam Mulqueen 1 – 0, Harry Buckley 1 – 0, David Holmes 0 – 3, Patrick Concannon 0 – 2, Paddy O’Connell 0 – 1.

U15 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Crecora Manister vs Coshlea Gaels
In ideal conditions for football at Crecora pitch Crecora Manister under 15s, playing their second championship match secured their first win with a 0 – 5 to 1 – 1 victory on Monday night against a gallant Coshlea Gaels side.

It was a low scoring first half with Crecora Manister defending well, and Sam Collins getting the only score of the half, a fine point from play.
The second half was a much more entertaining affair with both teams playing well and digging in deep to try and secure a result.
Crecora scored 2 points from Sam Collins and Pierce Griffin before Coshlea Gaels got a goal back.

It was a nail-biting final 10 minutes with Crecora Manister getting another point, this time a well taken free from Daniel Gardiner only for Coshlea Gaels to equalise.
With the play ebbing and flowing and a resolute defence performing admirably, up stepped Sam Collins scored another point from play to secure the win.
This was a fine team performance all round considering we were down a good few players due to injury.
Some great individual performances as well from Harry Buckley and Daniel Woods, but well done to all the players, the lads who came out to encourage them on and thanks for the support.

U12 Footballers Play in Croke Park

Our under 12 Footballers had a great outing in Croke Park on Wednesday 12th April.

They participated in three 20 mins matches versus Sam Maguires (from Cork), Ennistymon (from Clare) and St Pats Blennerville (Co Kerry).

It was a wonderful occasion for the boys and special thanks to all the parents and coaches who contributed to some great memories and hopefully the first of many times these players will play on the hallowed turf.

A special mention to the parents of our U12 footballer Callum Cahill of Ca Sports for sponsoring special edition Croke Park training jerseys for each of the players.

We are grateful for the hospitality we received from Raheny GAA Club. They were wonderful hosts.

We had a kick about on their astro pitch and they kept us all fed and watered before and after our visit to Croke Park.

We really appreciate it and look forward to welcoming Raheny GAA Club down to Limerick.
