Fundraising Drive Launched

On Monday the 28th March, the GAA and Camogie Clubs launched their Fundraising Drive at the GAA Pitch to raise the balance of funding needed to complete the 55 metre fenced and lighted All Weather Playing Facility, located at the hurling wall, at Crecora Manister GAA Pitch.

If you wish to contribute towards the completion of Development Plan works you can by:
1) Lodging directly to the Clubs Development Fund Account with Bank of Ireland: IBAN: IE26 BOFI 9044 9947 4969 71

2) Send a Cheque, payable to “Crecora Manister Development Fund” to any Club Committee member;

3) Contribute online at: https://www.klubfunder.com/Clubs/Crecora_Manister_Development_Fund

Club Notes 24th March 2022

Intermediate Football
Our intermediate footballers began their 2022 league campaign with a disappointing defeat to Mungret on a scoreline of 3-5 to 1-9 last Sunday. Next up is Cappamore this Saturday 26th March in Cappamore at 3pm.

Croke Cup Final
Congratulations to Rían O’Byrne and his Ardscoil Rís teammates who won the school’s first ever All-Ireland senior hurling colleges title with a 1-17 to 0-15 over St. Kieran’s College of Kilkenny in the Croke Cup final on St. Patrick’s Day in Croke Park. Rían played in midfield and contributed a point from play. Well done to all on the success.

Condolences
The club would like to extend its sympathies to the family of Séamus Quinn, late of Ballycahane, Manister, on his recent passing. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The club was well represented in the recent St Patrick’s Day Parade in Limerick by John & Sean O’Donovan, while the camogie club was represented by Aidan & Clara Malone. Thanks to all for keeping the club colours flying.

Con & Annie Kirby
Once again we have been paired with a dog in the annual Con & Annie Kirby memorial stakes starting this Saturday night 26th March. Our dog “The Other Kobe” runs in Heat 6. The club has some free passes available whilst under under 12s get in free. Follow our dog’s progress on Saturday night on Twitter @crecoragaa.

Leaflet Drop
A reminder that our leaflet drop to publicise the launch of the GAA & Camogie Fundraising Drive for the All Weather Pitch, takes place on Saturday 26th March from 10.30am-11.30am. We need volunteers to meet at the GAA pitch to collect leaflets and do a section of road. Also, if you intend to pay the suggested family contribution of €300 towards our Development Plan works, but have not yet done so, now is the time to do it if possible please as works will be starting soon and your support is needed now.

Feile Peil
This year’s Feile Peil team competed last weekend and while results did not go their way , the determination and never say die attitude was commendable. Well done also to coaches. See Facebook page for photo.

Freshers Hurling
Well done to Cathal O’Neill who was part of the UL Fresher’s Hurling team who won the Division 1 All-Ireland title last Wednesday with a 1-20 to 0-11 win over DCU.

Best Of Luck
Best of luck to Rían O’Byrne and his Ardscoil Rís teammates who play famed St. Kieran’s College of Kilkenny in the All-Ireland Colleges Hurling final (Croke Cup) on St. Patrick’s Day in Croke Park at 4pm.

Mackey Cup
Congratulations to our Crecora-Manister U13 Hurlers Cian Hickey, Sam Collins and Patrick Concannon who have been selected on the Limerick Divisional Team to play in the Mackey Cup.
