Our Figure Dancers and Musicians took part in the Munster semi-final of Scór na nÓg on Saturday January 3rd in Askeaton Hall. As Limerick Champions, they were up against their Kerry and Clare counterparts.
Because there were no Clare representatives in the Figure Dancing competition, our girls went through automatically to the Munster Final along with Spa of Kerry, but nevertheless danced very well on the night.
The team was Caoimhe Sheehan, Amy O’Connor, Emer Kennedy, Olive Wixted, Sara Gilmartin, Eimear Mahon, Jo Burke and Órla Byrnes.
Unfortunately, our Music Group consisting of Shane and Amy O’Connor, Niamh Keyes, Olive Wixted and Cian Leahy were extremely unlucky not to qualify, losing out to Cooraclare of Clare and Lixnaw of Kerry.
Thanks to Gillian Collins for all her work in putting the Music Group together.
Thanks also to Muirne Bennis, Annette Byrnes and Norah O’Connor for mentoring the Dancers and to all supporters who travelled to Askeaton on the night.
Our Dancers will be out again on Sunday January 18th for the Munster Final in Cappoquin, Co. Waterford at 2pm where they will be up against Spa of Kerry along with two out of the Cork, Tipperary and Waterford Champions.
Best of luck to all involved.
Remember, in February our Quiz Team will compete in the All-Ireland Final.
