Club Notes 30th August 2021

Intermediate Football
Our intermediate footballers had a difficult first outing in our first ever intermediate championship game as a club.
Against a strong Drom-Broadford side, we struggled to come to terms with their pace and physicality in the opening quarter as they got in a for two quick goals.
Our lads rallied after the water break with a goal from Shane O’Connell and some nice points from Mike McCormack and Richard Murphy.
The second half was equally as challenging as the stronger Drom-Broadford side pressed home their advantage.
The final score ended up Drom-Broadford 5-16 Crecora-Manister 1-8.
Team: Eoghan O’Connor; Cian Leahy, Tim Moloney, Patrick Dolphin; Donnacha Connolly, Cormac Flanagan, Evan Moloney; Karl Moloney, Darach Skelly; Richard Murphy, Sean Fitzgerald, Micheal O’Neill; Shane O’Connell, Mike McCormack, Sam Riordan. Under 19 Hurlers

Next up is Tournafulla-Killeedy in Crecora on Monday 30th August at 6.45pm.

Under 15 Footballers
Our under 15 footballers had a busy week. On Monday night they claimed a 3-14 to 1-3 win over Newcastlewest in the division 2 county quarter final.
The team would endure a difficult opening period and went behind to two early NCW scores.
However our lads settled into the game thereafter and scored 2-5 without reply to lead by 8 at half time.
We controlled the second half and won comfortably in the end.
There were some excellent performances from all the players in the panel.
On Friday afternoon they competed in the Feile Peil na nOg in Ahane and topped the group with victories over Adare 2-4 to 0-3 and against Ahane 2-5 to 0-2.
Unfortunately our lads lost out in the quarter final to Killacolla Gaels by 3-1 to 2-1.
They now prepare for a county semi final with time, date and venue TBC.

Limerick Hurlers
Congratulations to the Limerick hurlers and management on claiming a third All-Ireland title in four years after their 3-32 to 1-22 win over Cork.
Well done to our own Cathal O’Neill on picking up his first All-Ireland medal.
