Junior A Hurling Championship Match Report

On Saturday 23rd September we finished up the group stages of the Junior Hurling Championship with a win over Garryspillane in Bruff.

We had a comprehensive win on a scoreline of 4-17 to 0-5 which consolidated our second place in the table and ensured we qualified for the quarter final of the championship for the second year in a row.

Despite playing into a stiff breeze we got off to a flying start with an early goal by Chris Shanahan. Chris added a point before Garryspillane struck back with 2 Points of their own.

A goal apiece by David Power and Cormac Flanagan along with points from Cathal O’Neill, David Power and Shane Moloney extended the score out to 3-6 to 0-4 by the break.

We continued our good form into the second half and increased our advantage with a couple of points from Cathal.

Midway through the second half Richard Murphy struck with a goal to put the game beyond doubt and we ended the game with further points from Rob Henehan, Rian O’Byrne and Rory Hannan.
