Intermediate Football Result
Crecora Manister 1:08
Newcastle West 2:07
Our Intermediate Footballers, taking part in the Griffin Coaches Intermediate County Championship for the 5th consecutive year suffered a disappointing 2 point defeat to Newcastle West on Saturday evening 19th July in a wet Ballingarry. We opened the game very well with 3 unanswered points in the first 10 minutes. However, NCW clawed their way back into the game with their own 4 unanswered scores and then we traded points to go in at the break level on 5 points each. Again, the opening exchanges in the second half were in Crecora Manister’s favour including a well taken goal to give us a 4 point cushion going into the last 15 minutes but credit to NCW, they kept going and forced some good turnovers to take 2 goals with their second goal coming in injury time to put them 2 points up. Despite some last efforts Crecora Manister just could not get anymore one the board. Our players produced some really good play and a little bit of tightening up will give us confidence to take on all challenges in the coming rounds. Congratulations to NCW on their win.

Minor Football Result
Crecora Manister South Liberties 1:21
Patrickswell 3:21
Our championship campaign started on Wednesday evening away to a good Patrickswells team who had one match under their belt. The home side got off to a good start with 2 quick points but after that it was nip and tuck with both sides exchanging points as the half went on. Patrickswell scored a goal and took a three point lead. We had a couple of goal chances and took one. Patrickswell raised another green flag before another run of points for both sides to leave the half time score Patrickswell 2 13 CMSL 1 11. We got off to a good start in the second half to get within 2 points before the Patrickswell got in for a third goal. It was nip and tuck for the rest of the game and we were unlucky not to take some goal chances which would have given us a win. Final score Patrickswell 3:21 CMSL 1:21.

Pitch Development Update
On Tuesday last the new robot mower was installed at the GAA pitch. Thanks to all for their support with this project, which was grant aided from our Development Fund and Sports Capital funding. Many thanks also to Aidan Malone and Mark Leahy for their work on this, and in particular Ronan Kirby, who advised on specifications, engaged with the suppliers, getting quotes, and his work in getting the mower set up and operating this week.
If you and your family have not already supported the Oasis tickets fundraiser, please do so today, so that further developments at the pitch can be delivered including the Players Gym Facility.
