U14 Hurling Semi-Final Win
Crecora Manister 2-11
ABK 2-08
Crecora Manister U14 hurlers had a thrilling win V ABK Desmonds on Sunday morning played at Old Christians GAA club which was in pristine condition. This win puts us through to the County Final which will be played the weekend of Sat 20th or Sun 21st September.
We played with the aid of a strong wind in the first half and started the game very well and got early scores on the board from Conor Hickey, Fionn Kennedy and an excellent goal from Seán Hickey. ABK came back at us and threatened our goal on a few occasions but we kept them out thanks to some great defence from Lewis O’Mahony, Shane Holmes, Niall Mulqueen and Will Shea in goals who had an outstanding performance on the day. A superb score from distance from an inform Tommy Keyes and a goal from the ever-present Conor Hickey after a well worked pass from Mark Travers saw us go in at half time 2-08 to 0-04 ahead.
The second half saw ABK throw everything at us and with 10mins to go they were awarded a penalty which they duly converted which left the bare minimum between the sides. It was heart in mouth stuff but we finished the game stronger to win on a final score line of 2-11 to 2-08 putting us through to a county final V Southside Gaels who beat Knockainey on a scoreline of 8-08 to 1-05

U12 Hurling Blitz
Congratulations to our U12 hurlers who valiantly came away with silverware today in the Vincent & Richard Phelan memorial tournament held in St Patrick’s GAA grounds. With 6 teams competing we started with a tough battle beating Claughaun. In our second game we faced Broadford/Bodyke where we played some tremendous hurling ending up victorious. On the other side St Patricks came through against Smith O Briens & Newcastle West.
This led to an exciting cup final which didn’t disappoint. A last minute point was needed to draw which meant extra time. In extra time we started very well getting the 1st two scores. St Patricks found the net with a goal and we were two down with time almost up but all the lads dug deep showing tremendous character to get the last two scores resulting in an epic draw. Final score St Patricks 4-8 South Liberties Crecora 3-11
Common sense prevailed and the Cup was shared. Well done to All.👏
