Minor Football
Kilpeacon got their inaugaral minor football campaign off to a great start with a win against a very strong Cluaghan side in Crecora on Friday last.
The home side dominated the first quarter with scores Conor Burke, Micheál O’Neill (1-2) and Craig McNamara but the determined physically strong Claughan side were always a threat and goaled before the break to leave the scores 1-8 to 1-2 in Kilpeacon’s favour.
Claughan had the majority of play in the second half and reduced the gap to two points but excellent defensive work eliminated goal opportunities. A strong finish with points from M.O’Neill and a brace by Liam Quirke gave the final score of 1-3 to 1-9. U-14 football
The U-14 football championship will start in May and in preparation U-14 football training resumes on Sunday evenings at 6pm at Fedamore pitch. Crecora had a strong panel of football players last year at U12 and U13 and we are looking forward to joining with Fedamore in our newly amalgamated Kilpeacon team for a successful summer for our U-14 footballers this year.

U-21 Hurling Lough Na Garra Gaels
Our U-21 hurlers Lough Na Garra Gaels are through to the South U-21 A hurling final. This game was played in bitter cold conditions and it made control and touch of the sliotar very difficult, however both teams served up an entertaining game and as the game entered the last quarter there was only two points in it. In the final ten minutes some well taken points by Eoin O’Farrell, Fergal Carey, Conor Burke and Cormac Flanagan killed off the game. Hopefully we will have more clement conditions for the South final.

We lined out as follows: Liam Quirke, Paudi Sheehan, Aaron Cregan, Colm Carey, John Quirke, Sean Vaughan , Dom O’Connor, Ryan O’Shea, Fergal Carey, Andy O’Donoghue, Eoin O’Farrell, Conor Burke, Cathal Quirke, Aaron Burke, Liam Carey, Cormac Flanagan.
