JUNIOR FOOTBALLERS:
This week is an exceptionally busy one for our junior B footballers. On Wednesday 5th August, they meet Claughaun in Crecora at 7pm in round 2 of the championship.
The very next day Thursday 6th they’re down to play St. Pats in round 3 also in Crecora at 7pm.
Please come out to support the team.
MINORS:
Our minor hurlers have one fixture down for decision this week.
On Sunday morning 9th August they will travel to Tournafulla to take on the home team at 12noon.
The following Tuesday 11th they play Killeedy.
Our footballers’ next game is on Friday August 14th versus Galtee Gaels.
UNDER 16s:
Our under 16 hurlers played Granagh-Ballingarry last Monday night in division 3A of the county championship. Our lads were minus several key players but nonetheless gave a battling and spirited performance against a very strong Granagh team. The under 16s now have a break for a few weeks and will play their next match on 17th August in football away to St. Kierans. For the hurlers, their next game is away to Tournafulla on August 24th, because we have a bye in the next round.
UNDER 14s:
Our under 14s were unlucky to be beaten by Mungret last Wednesday in the county championship.
This was only their second loss of the campaign and the team are still in with a major chance of reaching the semi finals.
The final score last Wednesday was 3-8 to 1-7 in favour of our neighbours.
Their next game is against Patrickswell on Wednesday week August 12th.
For our footballers, they will play the unbeaten Askeaton-Ballysteen on Wednesday 5th August at 7.15pm in Askeaton.
They need to win this to ensure a place in the knockout stages of the division 2 championship.
CONGRATULATIONS:
Congrats to the Limerick under 21 hurling team who captured the Munster title last Thursday night in Cusack park in Ennis with a 0-22 to 0-19 win over reigning champions Clare.
They will now face Galway in Semple Stadium Thurles on Saturday August 22nd.
