Medal Presentation to Juniors

On Saturday 21st February members of the Junior Footballer and Hurling panels met in Reddan’s pub, Wolfetone Street. We were honoured to have the Football Team sponsors Pat and Pauline Burke of P.B.C. in attendance.

Pat Burke presented to Mike McCormick a set of O’Neill’s tops for the Junior football team to recognise their winning of the City Championship and reaching the County Final.

Noel Murphy, Mossy Fitzgerald and Matt Flanagan presented All County League medals to the hurling panel and City Championship medals to the Football panel.

The night was a great occasion for the players, coaches and sponsors to relax, mingle and look forward to another successful season.

Thanks to Anthony O’Dwyer for the hospitality and the finger food.

Later on that evening, both teams traveled into the Gaelic Grounds to watch the Limerick versus Wexford league game. At 9 o’clock, a presentation of medals took place in the Weigh Inn Ballysheedy. Mass was attended on Sunday morning in Manister and after that the Askamore team and mentors returned to Wexford.
A great weekend was had by all and the Askamore-Kilrush contingent were a pleasure to entertain. This visit has forged stronger bonds between the two clubs and both teams will have many great memories from the weekend.
