OUR CLUB MEN REPRESENTING OUR COUNTY
Paul Collins and Karl Maloney have been picked on the Limerick minor football panel for 2017. Karl has been named as Limerick Minor Football captain for the 2017 season .
This is a massive achievement for Karl himself , his family and Crecora Manister GAA club. Karl has always shown his commitment to his club first and foremost , has always been available to play club games throughout the age-groups and his attitude and commitment at training and matches has progressed to County level and has been recognised to the extent of Karl being awarded the Limerick captaincy .
For a Junior club like Crecora Manister who do have aspirations and goals to move up the grades in the coming years it just shows that you don’t have to be in a senior club to be recognised and rewarded as a player.
Our club is very proud of both Karel and Paul and we wish them well on Wednesday week V Waterford.
CON AND ANNIE KIRBY PUPPY DOG STAKES
Crecora Manister’s dog in the nominators competition of the Con and Annie Kirby puppy stakes “Drive On Tipp” has progressed to the final of this massive race – the richest race in Europe for dogs of this class.
The Kirby family have long been associated with our GAA club and its great that our club has a runner in the final.
The final is on this coming Saturday 8th April at Limerick Greyhound Stadium. We would ask as many as possible from the club to attend, show your support on the night, wear the club colours, bring the kids and roar on “Drive on Tipp” etc.
It would be great to have a big turnout from the Crecora and Manister community on the night.
JUNIOR HURLERS
Our Junior Hurlers had a team building session last weekend in Cork, where they played a match against the local Glen Rovers club and then attended the League quarter final on Sunday. They start their League matches next Tuesday at home to Adare.
LIMERICK CLUB DRAW
We again have over 200 members in the Limerick Club draw and many thanks to all for supporting this as it is a major source of funds for our club.
If you are interested in joining for the remainder of the year you can still do so, just contact one of the coaches or a member of the committee.
KILPEACON U15 HURLERS
Kilpeacon U15 recorded an opening round win in the All County Div 1 U15 Hurling Championship against a strong Southside Gaels outfit on a scoreline of 1 -11 to 2 – 3, a 4 point win. Southside took the first score of the game with a good point, but Kilpeacon came back with a great ball into the forwards, Sam Riordan took on the defence and was pulled back winning a penalty which Cathal O Neill dispatched with power and conviction.
The rest of the game ebbed and flowed with some great movement and interplay from all the Kilpeacon players, working the ball out from the backs, spotting players in space and kept the score board ticking over. In fairness to Southside Gaels they never gave up and a couple of goals kept them in touch but it was the team work and effort of all the Kilpeacon players that won out on the day.
Next up is a home game against Murroe Boher on April 19th.
