Minor Football
Following success at divisional level, Kilpeacon for the second year in a row entered the County Semi Final stage of the competition and were meeting a well fancied Adare side in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale under lights on Monday night 8th October. Two very evenly matched teams were quite evident during the early exchanges and a few nerves from both sets of players with missed passes gave way to two confident attacking teams showing their wares. Adare got the better of the early exchanges and pushed ahead with some good scores but as the first half moved on some well taken points kept Kilpeacon in the game.
At half time , Adare’s goal was the difference between the teams who went in at the break with Adare leading 1-6 to 0-6. Adare struck early in the second half with a well taken score and then Kilpeacon had their dominant spell with firstly a great run through the middle by Sam Riordan who was cynically brought down just outside the box when a goal was on the cards. This resulted in a black card for Adare and the resultant free led to a point. Kilpeacon got their goal soon after with a well worked move between Jack Dalton and Sam Riordan ended up with Sam being fouled again, this time in the square and a penalty resulted with Richard Murphy stepping up and dispatching the ball into the corner of the net.
Despite relentless pressure Kilpeacon could not bridge the gap any closer and Adare prevailed on a score line of 2 – 10 to 1 – 9.

Crecora Camogie
Commiserations to Crecora Camogie who lost out in the Munster Intermediate Camogie Semi Final to a fine St. Joseph’s Doora-Barefield side of Clare last Sunday in Gurteen, Ennis on a 3-10 to 1-7 scoreline.

Junior B Hurlers
Our Junior B Hurlers were knocked out of the County Championship at the quarter final stage last Sunday morning in Askeaton.
They encountered a very strong Tournafulla team who won out on a scoreline of 4 – 12 to 0 – 5.
The City Final against Kildimo-Pallaskenry is due to be played in the coming weeks.

Minor Football
Kilpeacon took on Caherconlish in the East A Minor Football Final in Knocklong on 2nd October 2019 under lights.
Having met Caherconlish twice already this year, the first game was a draw 1 – 08 apiece and second game had to be abandoned in second half due to a serious injury, this was once again expected to be a very tight affair. With the Knocklong field in immaculate condition and top referee Johnny Murphy officiating in the calm before storm Lorenzo the scene was set.
Both teams threatened in the first 5 mins with some near misses but it was Kilpeacon who got on the score board early with some fine scores. Led by a superb defence backboned by John Bourke in goals with Patrick Dolphin at full back and Eoghan O’Connor & Colm O’Riordan in the corners there were no easy path through to goal for Caherconlish and our half back line of Patrick Byrne, ably assisted by Christopher Shanahan and Captain Colin Haigney were the launch pad for our attacking and very mobile forward players.
Darragh O’Keeffe (0-3) and Michael Martin never stopped working in midfield and their distribution into the half forward line led through the middle by Sam Riordan (0-6), with Rory Hannon and Callum Hedderman (1-2) on the wings who set up our full forward line for some superb scores with Jack Dalton (2-1), Scott McEvoy (1-0) and Aidan Walker (1-1), there was never any doubt after half time that the cup was coming back.
This is our second year in a row winning the East A, and we now look forward to meeting Adare in the County Semi Final.

Under 15 Hurlers
Our under 15s played two games Saturday morning 5th October. They claimed a 6-6 to 3-0 win over South Liberties and lost out to Cappamore 2-8 to 1-2.

Crecora Camogie
Crecora Manister GAA club would like to extend its congratulations to Crecora Camogie Club on the achievement of their players, coaches and management in winning the Intermediate County Final last Sunday with a 2-7 to 1-6 defeat of Bruff.
It was great to see this group of players finally get over the line and best of luck to them in the Munster campaign.

Congratulations to our County U12 Hurling Champions who defeated Pallasgreen on Friday 27th September in a great performance in UL.
Great credit is due to Tom, Chris and Declan for all their work during the year.
After the game all the players were presented their medals and had a feast of pizza and chips at our club facility.
A great end to the U12 Hurling year!!
