Great performance by U21 Hurlers

Our under 21 hurlers under the name of Tory Gaels (Amalgamation of Croom and Crecora Manister) had a great performance in the second round of the South Championship versus Bruff in Knocklong on Saturday 14th March.

In a highly entertaining first half we had a long range goal from Mark Reidy and some lovely points from Edwin Wixted and Seán Cahill to go in a point in arrears at the break 0 – 10 to 1 – 06.

The second half was a tight and exciting affair with both sides trading points and we took the lead twice in injury time only for Bruff to come back and equalise on both occasions.

The final score was Bruff 0 – 17 Tory Gaels 1 – 14. Nonetheless this was a fine result against a highly fancied Bruff team and the lads are out again next weekend Saturday 21st March against Knockainey in round 3 – time and venue to be confirmed.

The Crecora players were: Edwin Wixted, Cormac Flanagan, Micheál O’Neill, Evan Moloney, Tim Moloney, Liam Quirke, Conor Burke, Tomás Connolly and Cian Leahy.
