Junior hurling
Our Junior team, got their season off to a good start when we played Tournafulla in the Premier ACL. Missing a few players from last year’s championship team and with Cormac Skelly and Paudie Sheehan making their competitive junior starts we were delighted with our 3 – 17 to 0 – 7 win. The opposition were short their U-21 players as they had a game on Sunday so Tour fielded a lot of experienced players. The wind played a major part in the game and we did better against it then the opposition. Having won the Junior League last year we are looking forward to playing teams from the county that we do not generally meet in league or championship matches. Our next game in this league is against Kilmallock on May 19th and we are looking forward to that test.
Our team on the night was: S Keating, G Kelliher, N Moloney, P Sheehan, P Walsh, S Moloney, F Carey, M McCormack, W O’Donovan, C Keyes, E O’Shea, R Hourigan, S McDermott, C Skelly, Damien Walsh, C Scully,Pa Sullivan.
U-14 Hurling
Fundraising is going well for Feile, Thanks to all the local businesses for their excellent support. Hurling training is going well with good numbers turning up. We have had a few challenge matches and the lads have given a good account of themselves considering they are a very young side. We wish Karl Moloney all the best in u14 hurling trials.
U-14 football
The U-14 football championship will start in May and in preparation U-14 football training for our newly amalgamated Kilpeacon team has already resumed on Sunday evenings at 6pm at Fedamore pitch. There was a good turnout for the initial training session and we look forward to an even greater turnout this week and to a successful summer for our U-14 footballers this year.
U-12 Football & Hurling
Attention turned to Football for our U12s last week and we hosted Monaleen in our first game. As with the previous week, there was heavy rain prior to the game but thankfully it had eased by the time the game started. We had minimal preparation done for Football at this stage and it showed in the early part of the game where Monaleen looked the better side and established an early lead. Gradually with good interplay and passing our boys came into the game and led by half-time with the help of 2 goals. We continued to play well in the second half adding to our tally and our defence ensured we maintained our lead to the final whistle. This was another fine team performance by the U-12s and it was great to see the scores distributed amongst different players. Next up for the U-12s is a hurling fixture against St. Patricks in Rhebogue on Thurs 25th April.
