Lough Na Garra Gaels U21 Hurling match win over Bruff
Our U21 team named Lough Na Garra Gaels, ( Tory Lake ) made a great start to the U 21 Championship with a win over Bruff on a score line of 0 – 17 to 0 – 14 at the weekend. The amalgamation of Crecora/Manister and Croom only came about in January and with little time to prepare for the championship this win was somewhat unexpected. The team showed a huge work ethic and a real battling spirit not usually associated with amalgamated clubs. While there is work to be done by many players on fitness and first touch this is an excellent start to the season.

The wind played a big factor in this game and we trailed at half time by 13 points to 6 having defended magnificently in that first half under wave and wave of Bruff attacks.

We scored 6 points into that stiff wind and that was the winning of the game as Bruff only managed 1 point when playing against it in the 2nd half.

We lined out as follows: Ciaran Cregan, Paudi Sheehan, Aaron Cregan, Bobby Reidy, John Quirke, Dom O’Connor, Sean Vaughan, Kieran Larkin, Conor Laffan, Fergal Carey, Eoin O’Farrell, James Malone, Colm Carey, Darra Skelly, Cathal Quirke, Liam Quirke, Andy O’Donoghue, Liam Carey, Cormac Flanagan, Aaron Burke, Ryan O’Shea, L Kennedy.
The team play Knockainy, Hospital / Herbertstown next Sunday at 4.00, all support welcome.

Kilpeacon U14 hurling challenge match vs Clonlara
We had our first u14 Hurling Match a couple weeks back as Kilpeacon (i.e. Crecora/Manister + Fedamore). The following is a brief match report:

We travelled across the Shannon to play a challenge match with Clonlara and met a very strong Clonlara team. Our squad is a very young squad and we were missing a number of players due to injury and other commitments .

Clonlara won the match well but we were very encouraged by the effort shown by all players which was rewarded with 1:5 in the second half.

Training continues on Monday nights in Catholic Institute and all u14 players in Fedamore /Crecora/Manister area are very welcome to attend.
