Key Goal from Damian Kearney

Our Minor Footballers maintained their 100% start to their Premier Championship campaign  with a hard fought win over a strong Ballysteen side on Sunday last, 11th May in Crecora.

Despite missing key players through injury, and suffering the early loss of  Cormac Flanagan, the players produced a battling display and a great team effort on the night.

The game was tight throughout with Ballysteen just holding a one point advantage at the break. Our first half scores came from Damian Kearney, David Macken, Micheál O’Neill and Barry Fitzgibbon.

The key score came early in the second half with a wonderful Damian Kearney goal.

To the end scores were tit-for-tat with Micheál O’Neill scoring five in reply to the Ballysteen efforts. Ballysteen were in contention right to the end and it needed a great point from Ryan O’Shea to give us the two point winning margin.

There were other excellent performances throughout especially by Thomas Connolly, Brian Cregan and playmaker Gary O’ Connell.
