U14 Hurling challenge versus Parteen

Kilpeacon GAA( Crecora Manister GAA and Fedamore GAA) played a challenge match versus Parteen in U14 Hurling recently. This was a good game of hurling from start to finish. We scored a few early points but Parteen got a goal slightly against the run of play. We added on a few points with Cathal O’Neill very accurate from placed balls. Parteen scored a second goal and we held a slender lead at half time.

Parteen had the wind for the second half and piled on the pressure but our backs responded well and Rory Hannon had a good game in goals for the second half. We scored a good goal and added points. Our scorers on the day were Cathal O’Neill, Colin Haigney, Richard Murphy , Conor Godfrey. While Parteen ended up winning by two points on a score line of 3:8 to 1:12 this was a good display from all the panel .On reflection, we should have scored more in the first half with wind assistance. Special mention to James Conheady who hurled very well at mid-field and Sam O’Donnell who played well at Centre back in the first half.

Our Panel on the day included Chris Shanahan, Padraig Byrnes, Ciaran Humphries, Joshua Skehan Fitzgerald, Thomas Shanahan, Sam O’Donnell, Colin Coughlan, James Conheady, Donnacha Connolly, Colin Haigney, Richard Murphy, Brendan Power, Cian Enright, Conor Godfrey, Fergal Egan, Jack Dalton, Rory Hannon, Shane O’Connor.

Training continues every Tuesday and Saturday and if there are any more hurlers at U14 age level in Crecora/Fedamore/Manister area that are interested in joining us, they are very welcome.

U14 Feile Hurling versus Cappamore

Kilpeacon played Cappamore in U14 Feile Hurling match on Sunday 30th March in Cappamore. We were missing a few players on the day due to other sports events and also had players returning from injury.

While we started well, we failed to capitalise on good attacking play. Cappamore got a goal and a point and we were always playing catch up from there.

All 19 players that attended contributed and while we were well beaten on the day, we know we have some good young hurlers and need to continue to build for the future.

Our Squad on the day was Padraig Byrnes, Chris Shanahan, Barry Moore, Colin Haigney, Thomas Shanahan, Richard Murphy, Shane O’Connor, Donnacha Connolly, Sam O’Donnell, James Conheady, Ciaran Humphries, Cathal O’Neill, Cian Enright, Conor Godfrey, Eoghan O’Connor, Ethan Hennessy, Fergal Egan, Ciaran Kennedy, John Bourke.
