Our U12 hurlers played their final 2 matches of the league on Friday night 15th September in Rathkeale.
We started slow and a little too timidly but warmed up as the match went on. We worked the ball well into our forwards and had some great scoring chances narrowly missing about 4 goals.
In our second match against Croom we stood back from the action and let Croom handle the ball and catch the ball in the air without contesting it. We got more engaged and more physical in the second half and worked more as a team.
We won the second half of both matches but the slow starts cost us. Great overall to see our boys pick up their level of engagement, physicality, chasing of the ball and playing more as a team in both games. It was very encouraging to see more of our players attack the ball and have the self belief to pick the ball and run at the opposition.
Our next match for this under 12 group of hurlers will be on Saturday 7th October in Ballinacurra Gaels where we will 2 matches in a blitz organised by Ballinacurra Gaels.
