Our Junior hurlers played Patrickswell in the Semi Final of the City Championship on Sunday 21st Septmeber.
We got off to a good start and went 3 points up.
Patrickswell’s first score was a goal and this cancelled out our good work early on.
However we kept scoring points and went in at the break 2 points up, in reality we could have been up by more but the Well could also have scored a couple of more goals.

The game was won and lost in the vital 3rd quarter as the Well scored 1 – 4 and we failed to score in this period.
Our lads never gave up and the team rallied to win the last quarter and we ended up losing by 3 points.
The 2nd half of this game was played at real championship pace and the standard was of a very high level.

Referee Mike Mann let the game flow in this period and there was some wonderful hard, fair and skillful hurling by both teams.
For the panel of players it was hard to take as they had put huge effort into this season and injuries to players in the weeks leading up to this game had a serious effect on team preparations.
The panel is very young and hopefully they will all be available again next year to try and win that City title.

Finally the Club would like to acknowledge the great work, commitment and energy that our team trainer and manager John Ryan brought to the junior hurling set up over the past 3 years.
