Minor Football
Kilpeacon made it two from two in minor football with an impressive away win to Kildimo-Palleskenry on Tuesday last. We started sluggishly and conceded an early goal, however good scorces by Craig McNamara, David Macken,Liam Quirke and the lively Conor Burke gave a one point advantage at the break. A turning point early in the second half was a great penalty save by Eoin Enright, from there Kilpeacon grew in confidence and dominated to the end ammassing a total of 3.18 in the end. A very effective defensive performance lead by Tim Moloney and Cormac Flanagan limited the opposition to three second half points. Midfield parnership of Seán Fitzgerald and David Macken ensured a good supply of ball to the free scoring forwards. Panel: Eoin Enright, Evan Moloney,Tim Moloney,Nicky Keogh,Liam Carey,Cormac Flanagan,Colm Carey, David Macken(0.1), Seán Fitzferald(0.1) Thomas Keogh(0.1),Craig McNamara(0.7),Nicky Morrissey(0.1),Liam Quirke(0.2),Conor Burke(2.5),Conor Griffin,Darragh Griffin,David Cregan,Dean Fanning,Damean Kearney(1.0)

U-14 football
The U-14 football championship will start in May and in preparation U-14 football training for our newly amalgamated Kilpeacon team has already resumed on Sunday evenings at 6pm at Fedamore pitch. There was a good turnout for the initial training session and we look forward to an even greater turnout this week and to a successful summer for our U-14 footballers this year.

U-12 Football & Hurling
Once again we had another busy week for our U12’s Panel.

The Hurlers had 2 tough games this week and a lot of lessons were learnt from both games.

First up last Tuesday night we played the Ballybrown U12’s back in Ballybrown and a very spirited and lively game ended in a draw . Once again we had a big turnout of players and with 7 subs to bring on in the Second half we still held our own which goes to prove that we have a very good squad of players who all play vital roles within the squad and team. A lot of players are showing improvement in play week on week and while this makes it harder for the coaches to select a starting line-up , it shows that if this improvement continues that we will have great strength in depth in the panel.

Vital to all of this is home practice on the simple skills of hurling , striking from the hand , pulling on the ground and rising the ball plus first touch control . The training wall at the pitch is always available to anyone who wants to use it and it is great to belt the ball against it and then control the returning ball. Great for reaction speed and first touch. If each player spent 20-30 mins each evening with a hurley in his hand , you will definitely see improvements in skill levels.

Last evening we had our second League Match against St Patricks . St Pat’s had already also won their first game so were not going to be easy opponents and they displayed some fast running and good skills in the game . however our team stepped up to the mark and showed determination and good skill all around the field which was great to see and in the end, captained by James we ended up comfortable winners on the score board , however it was a closer game on the pitch. Again we were able to get every player some game time which was great. We will continue to try to get every player game time during every match and if a player does miss out because of a very close game where bringing on 7-8 subs is not possible , those players will definitely get adequate game time in future games.

We have football training as usual this coming Sunday evening at 18:00pm

Our hurling training on Monday night at 19:00pm will be at Fedamore GAA Pitch

We will have a football League match on Thursday evening 2nd May away to Kildimo / Pallas..Venue TBC by Text
